Effluent pumps are essentially sump pumps on steroids
Now featuring Glentronics; PHCC Pro-Series sump pump systems and controls
An Effluent pump is often used inside a septic tank. Effluent is the liquid present after solids have settled. For various applications, effluent pumps range in horse power from 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4, 1 and up. Used primarily for pumping semi-clear liquids, submersible centrifugal effluent pumps can generally pass 5/8" solids.

ABS Scavenger Submersible Pumps are designed for continuous underwater operation in installations handling liquids containing suspended solids. The motor and pump form a close coupled, watertight unit capable of operating while submerged to a depth of 65 feet. The squirrel cage induction motor is insulated against heat and moisture in accordance with Class B regulations.
These pumps are available in single or three phase power. 4/10th and 1/2 HP units come with a Poly vortex impeller. 1 HP units come with the patented contra-block impeller. 1 HP units come with a 20' power cord with leads. All other units come with a 15' cord with a molded plug.

Filtered Pump Vaults, with self-contained pump and alarm alarm switches. Simplex and duplex designs for high-head filtered effluent applications. Perfect for large subdivisions or steep terrain developments where distances and hills make pumping to treatment a challenge for other pressure sewer designs. Often STEP systems are a worthy alternative to grinder pump sewege stations.
STEP systems work in conjunction with a solids collection (Septic) tank. During times of power or pump failure, STEP systems offer considerbly more "Flushing" capacity than a typical grinder sewage ejector system. The cost of pump replacement in a STEP system is considerably less than a comparable residential grinder pump.
High Head Turbine Filtered Effluent Pumps Turbine pumps, similar to (fresh) water-well pumps, are another type of effluent pump. Turbines are capable of much higher pumping pressures (heads) than centrifuguals. Often they are used in pressure sewer applications where only the effluent is sent to treatment. Trubines are not designed to handle solids and work best when installed in applications where the effluent is filtered.
We offer a variety of turbine pumps for new applications or to replace S.T.E.P. system effluent pumps for peat filter, mound systems, sand filter low pressure dosing systems and drip irrigation onsite wastewater dispersal systems. All have design features for long trouble-free operation; continuous duty rating, stainless steel corrosion resistant construction, hermetically sealed motor.
Stocked in several models and voltages for 8, 12 and 20 gallon per minute (GPM) applications. Larger flow turbine pumps are also available.
Ultraviolet (UV) Effluent Disinfection
Salcor ultra-violet effluent disinfection post secondary treatment ATU for open discharge of residential waste streams beats chlorine chlorinization chlorinators for back end disinfection on ATUs in open discharge. Salcor UV sterilization beats chlorinators hands down. New UV disinfecting unit that is designed expressly for gravity flow from secondary treatment. The Salcor Unit Supplies 30,000 micro-watts/cm2 of UV radiation (16,000 micro-watts/cm2 are required to meet USPHS standards for drinking water - 6,600 to kill fecal coliform. The discharge levels of contaminants and nutrients are so low they can be safe for open discharge where permitted. Units are 4" pipe size and can be set in parallel or series for up to 54,000 GPD.
